Pengguin was invited to design the cover for Vol. 753 of 月刊ブレーン (Brain Magazine), Japan's premier monthly publication on advertising, graphic design, creative direction, and visual communication.

As part of the magazine's long-standing tradition, each issue features a unique cover created by a different guest designer, illustrator, or studio—turning the cover into a standalone creative statement that often reflects or interprets the issue's theme while showcasing diverse global perspectives.

For Pengguin's 10th anniversary, we developed a “catch and pass” creative workflow. Starting with one designer creating an initial composition on the theme “Creative Addition”, we then alternate adding layers — each building on the previous with new graphic shapes, forms, and ideas — for a total of 10 superimposed iterations.

This back-and-forth process celebrates our decade-long partnership, remote creativity, and the beauty of cumulative, evolving design.
